Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I really like my current sunscreen. Why should I switch to yours?
A. Our primary goal is to get people to wear sunscreen. Try ours – you'll love the way it feels on your skin! The most important thing is to find a sunscreen that has a good UVA protectant, like zinc or titanium dioxide. All of Screen, Inc.'s products provide UVA/UVB broad spectrum protection.
Q. What’s the difference between Man Screen, Chic Screen, Teen Screen and Tweeny Screen?
A. They are essentially the same formula, but each has been designed to appeal to different ages and demographics. All are fragrance-free with the exception of Tweeny Screen, which is scented with yummy tropical fruit. Since we consider our sunscreen a daily "hygiene product," we believe that everyone should have their own sunscreen tube for personal use. We also believe by segmenting the product, folks will have different purchasing opportunities.
Q. Will you offer a tinted Lip Screen or tinted facial sunscreen?
A. Yes, we plan to continue expanding our collection. We are always open to feedback and suggestions.
Q. Should my facial sunscreen go under or over my make-up?
A.
We recommend that you apply your facial sunscreen under your make-up.
Will you offer a higher SPF facial sunscreen?
Yes, we are currently working on our "Extreme" line, which will include an SPF 35+ facial sunscreen, as well as an SPF 30+ Lip Screen that contains 15% zinc oxide for ultimate protection.
Q. Can I use your facial sunscreen on my body, too?
A. Of course. However, facial sunscreens tend to be more expensive than body sunscreens – you'd get better bang for your buck by using a body sunscreen for your body. Save the good stuff for your face!
Q. What kind of discounts can I get if buying in bulk?
A. We are happy to extend bulk pricing. The discount depends on the quantity purchased. Please call Screen, Inc.'s corporate office for details.
Q. How do you plan to compete in such a competitive industry?
A. We specialize in sunscreen for the neck, up. By creating a focused product, we can put all our efforts, time and money into making superior facial sunscreens. We are also one of the only sunscreen companies that offers sunscreens to distinct age groups and demographics. Teen Screen, our signature product, was specially formulated to be non-greasy and non-irritating to teenage skin. We are also passionate about sunscreen education and helping people understand what they need to look for in a sunscreen.
Q. Why does your formula only have SPF 16?
A. Experts say you should use a sunscreen with an SPF 15 anytime you are going to be exposed to the sun for more than 10 minutes. Studies have shown that using SPF 15 everyday provides more protection than using a higher SPF intermittently. Our sunscreen is specifically formulated for daily use - just like you wash your hair and brush your teeth, you should make sunscreen part of your daily routine.
And here's an interesting fact: an SPF 15 blocks 94% of UVB rays, while an SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVB rays. The higher SPF's merely provide 3% more protection, but many are filled with additional chemicals. These chemicals often make the sunscreen oily, irritating and sticky. Because of this, most teens and young adults do not want to put anything higher than an SPF 15 on their face.
Whatever sunscreen SPF is chosen, wearing sunscreen should not provide a false sense of security about protection from UVB exposure as no sunscreen can provide 100% UVB protection. While using a higher SPF provides greater UVB protection than a lower SPF, it does not mean that you should stay out in the sun longer.
